Ashley’s Skin Care Routine

Hi everyone! Thank you for peeking into my very FIRST blog post! I would like to start by saying my skin type is combination/dry with occasional stress and hormonal breakouts. Like most of us who live in central Illinois, my skin varies season to season! The list of products I am going to tell you about in this post are my current products I am using for the Fall/Winter season. Make sure you know your skin type and how your skin reacts to the time of year. I would love to help you create the perfect regimen at home! *All of these products are created and sold by Glo Skin Beauty.

Essential Cleansing Oil

Don’t let the name fool you, this oil formula is good for ANY skin type. This product is considered a “pre-cleanser”, as it is designed with the “opposites attract” theory in mind. It’s meant to prep the skin for your cleanser that targets your specialized skin care needs. Since oil likes oil, it goes into your pores and pulls out the oil build up and makeup from the day. I use mine at night to take my makeup off, it is gentle enough for my eyes, MELTS my mascara right off, and keeps my lashes feeling soft! You MUST apply to DRY skin to get the best benefits out of it. You’ll want to massage it in for about 60 seconds. I like to use a hot washcloth to gently remove it all. Your next step will depend on your skin type. If you struggle with oily skin, you might want to do a second cleanser and then tone. For myself, I take my toner and a cotton round and wipe off any excess makeup residue and then follow up with my nightly products!

Phyto-Active Cream Cleanser

This is my in-shower cleanser and works best on damp skin. It needs to be massaged in with water to get a good lather. BUT! If you like to cleanse your face at the sink, then just make sure you wet your skin first. I have tried multiple other cleansers and I keep going back to this gem. I love how sudsy it is and it gets the job done with one good wash. I need a face wash that removes all my makeup and still leaves my skin feeling soft, not dry and itchy. This one is formulated with papaya enzymes and plant stem cells to gently exfoliate and stimulate COLLAGEN production. (I am all about that collagen production!!!)

Conditioning Mist

Let me start by saying the scent alone sold me on this toner. I use this after cleansing to wipe off any excess makeup or oil residue my cleanser might have missed. This also prepares the skin’s PH level, allowing it to absorb my serums and moisturizers to their fullest benefit. Yogurt extract acts as a probiotic to heal and boost the skin’s protection from environmental stressors. Glo Skin Beauty packages all toners in mister bottles, therefore you have 3 products in one, a toner, a setting spray, and a mid-day hydration boost! My FAVORITE thing to do is mist my face before and after applying my makeup, or mid-day if I’m feeling dull, especially in the winter when our air is lacking moisture! Make sure to hold the bottle about 6 inches away from your face and lightly mist about 4-6 times. Don’t overdo it around the eye area after applying mascara! This is one of my secret weapons for achieving that dewy glow.

Daily Power C and Daily Hydration

These are two separate products, but I always use them together. They work best as a team! They are light-weight serums designed to penetrate deeply into the skin, so you should always apply these in the morning before moisturizing. Our bodies NEED Vitamin C internally AND externally. Vitamin C is crucial for collagen production and maintenance, and it is also a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals in the skin. Free radicals are very damaging and cause our skin to age prematurely. Always apply Vitamin C first, then immediately follow with Daily Hydration. These are liquids and absorb right into the skin. I use the palm of my hand as a bowl and my finger tips to dip into the product and blot all over my face, neck, and even chest sometimes too! (Our necks do not contain oil glands like our faces, therefore they show signs of aging very quickly.) Anything I put on my face I always, always extend down to my neck and sometimes my chest. The benefits of this duo are endless, they protect, strengthen, brighten, tighten, and smooth. Daily Hydration seals in the skin’s moisture and pushes the Vitamin C deeper down into the skin. This is my large dose of hyaluronic acid for the day. This precious ingredient can hold 1,000 x its weight in moisture, so your skin will thank you, or me later!

Phyto-Active Eye Serum

I apply eye serum religiously. Our eyes are the thinnest skin on our bodies, therefore, they show signs of aging very quickly. This formula firms, strengthens, and brightens! Who doesn’t want brighter eyes?! The plankton extract fills in lines and wrinkles and firms within 15 minutes, lasting up to 6 hours. The plant stem cells of the rose slow aging of the skin in the eye area. If you are over the age of 18, I advise you to wear your eye serum/cream daily!

Lip Revival

This luxurious lip treatment gives the appearance of fuller, smoother lips. It is specially formulated to stimulate COLLAGEN and assist in the skin’s natural hydration process. I put this on every time I cleanse my face; Morning and night. I have to have this on my lips before I apply my lip stick! It works almost like a primer, filling in lines and plumping everything up!

Moisturizing Tint SPF 30 (Light)

This comes in 4 different shades: Fair, Light, Medium, and Dark. I use the Light shade in the Fall/Winter and Medium in the Spring/Summer. If I’m in between seasons I will even mix the two for an in between shade! I will say, during the summer months this can sometimes be a little heavy for me with all the moisture in the air. (My go to product when this happens is the Tinted Primer SPF 30. (It has the same amount of coverage but more of a semi-matte finish.) I personally love when I can kill 2 birds with one stone, but we’ve got 3 down with this product! It is an oil free formula with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, works as your moisturizer, AND gives a touch of foundation coverage. If I want a full face of makeup (which I prefer most days), I will set this in with my pressed base powder. (More on my makeup regimen later!) This also attributes to my dewy youthful glow!

Phyto-Active Face Cream

This moisturizer goes home with you for the price of $175.00. I know that sounds crazy! Let me tell you why it is ABSOLUTELY worth investing in! The plant stem cells in this face cream work as an anti-inflammatory agent while also repairing sun damaged skin. The kombucha re-densifies our adipocyte cells creating a Filler Effect. What does this mean exactly? As we age our skin loses that plump, smooth and firm appearance we all desire. Because of this, a lot of people turn to filler injections. This moisturizer will work together with your skin to help keep your skin cells from breaking down. The combination of bamboo, pea extract and glucosamine HCI will stimulate collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production. I sleep in this moisturizer at night. In the event of a hot and humid summer night, I turn to its sister product Phyto-Active Light Moisturizer.

Phyto-Active Light Moisture

This moisturizer is like a dream come true. If you suffer from not being able to use most anti-aging moisturizers because they are too heavy for your skin, then this if for you! This will absorb right into the skin with no residue or greasy feel whatsoever. This has a smaller molecular version of hyaluronic acid, so it’s able to deeply plump and hydrate. This product contains bio retinol to stimulate retinoid action, improving elasticity and smoothness in the skin. The Nopal cactus plant stem cells work as a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. This is a great day or night moisturizer. I promise it will not disappoint!
